Together with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, the Pahiatua community and the 70th Reunion committee, the Polish Association in Wellington would like to extend a warm invitation to the ‘Pahiatua Polish Children’ and their families, to commemorate the 73rd anniversary of the arrival of Polish children to New Zealand.
A programme of events for the day, Friday 3 November 2017, has been organised, including the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, presented to the Pahiatua community by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland and the Polish community in New Zealand.
Transport – Bus Service to Pahiatua
The Embassy and the 70th Reunion committee will be providing a bus to transport those who wish to travel to and from Pahiatua without the stress of driving. Confirmed details for the bus service are as follows:
DEPARTING FROM WELLINGTON
1st pick-up location: Wellington Railway Station – Platform 9
Time: Meet at 8.15am – departing at 8.30am sharp
2nd pick-up point: Petone Postshop, Jackson Street
3rd pick-up point: High Street, Avalon (near St Martin de Porres)
Arrive in Pahiatua: 11.15am approximately
Restroom stops: Yes, on request
DEPARTING FROM PAHIATUA
1st drop-off point: High Street, Avalon (near St Martin de Porres)
2nd drop-off point: Petone Postshop, Jackson Street
Final drop-off point: Wellington Railway Station – Platform 9
Arrive in Wellington: 5.30pm approximately at Wellington Railway Station – Platform 9
TOTAL COST No cost
Guests are welcomed to travel by their private cars, but for catering purposes in Pahiatua could you please register your intent to attend with Irena Lowe – see contact number below.
